ITS ALL GOING TO BE ABOUT FENN.

Fenn, a fellow strawberry blond was all over London Fashion Week. I predict he will be a superstar.

CHECK OUT THAT STUD

After seeing the Burberry show and seeing loads of Camden punks in homemade get up around work.
I have just splashed out on a hole bunch of studs, spikes and rivets to bling up an old denim jacket minus sleeves, just on the lookout for a decent old leather jacket.
Hedi Slimane's "Diary" image you could say will be my inspiration.

GIRLS WHO ARE BOYS, WHO LIKE BOYS TO BE GIRLS...

You can keep your Domenico's & Stefano's and your Largerfeld's I could honestly survive without seeing another collection from these designers.
The only show I really wanted to see from this seasons collections was Raf Simons.
Never before have we had a designer who is so key and fundamental to the development of menswear. Every collection is executed with a beautiful precision and is always at the forefront of individuality, functionality and taste.
Taking inspiration from Simons' hero Margiela, he says this collection is in homage to his muse. Showing an almost colourless collection with loose bottom silhouettes and fitted vest tops that were printed with text and sexual imagery, which were reminiscent of his earlier collections and gave it his personal signature.
There was defiantly an air of androgyny about the collection from the model casting to the latex fabrics layered over sharp cut shirts and chunky full length zips with oversized zippers. As you would expect there had to be something new and pioneering and Raf didn't disappoint. Although some designers have dabbled in it before the androgynous "man skirt" raised its head and actually looked cool.
All I can say is you know where I live Raf, send me some freebies!

BOY MEETS WORLD

New to the circuit a few season ago Adrien Sahores is one of the most recognisable male models of the minute. After bagging the Prada SS10 campaign alongside Jacob Coupe and a whole reel of high end editorials Adrien has been a busy boy. With such unmistakable sunken cheeks, big wide hazel puppy dog eyes, ruby red lips and milky complexion his presence is desired by most designers, stylists and photographers. With Milan nearly over and Paris about to start we all can hope to see Adrien doing the leg work striding down the Parisian catwalks. I wait with breath that is baited for next seasons campaigns and editorials.

LEATHER STUDDED KISS

Bravo to Bailey for another great mens outerwear collection.
Absolutely adored all of the leather goods with the embellished studs and spikes.
I want look 41 so bad.
Interesting to see skintight leather biker trousers and the warrior jacket, which is a progression from the women's warrior collection a few seasons ago.
The muted earthy colours were refreshing as I was expecting to see another 42 guys walk down the catwalk in vivid brash costumes like at the Sander show.
The whole colour palette was wearable and very well arranged. The olive greens work really well with the dark grungy lather biker blacks contrasted with the classic coloured overcoat trench looks.
I think this is probably the best SS collection Burberry has designed. Its simply because its current, it had great attitude and direction and I would buy every look.
The casting was great too (Barbara Nicoli), Adrien Sahores is the bomb!! (Feature on Adrien to follow)

JIL MAKES YOUR BRIGHTS BRIGHTER

Jil Sander by Raf Simons SS11.
Last night saw the unveiling of the Spring Summer 2011 collection for Jil Sander.
Held in Florence (for some reason) not Milan, it kick started the mens season into procession.
Punchy, bold, electric colours were send down a formal Italian country garden inspired catwalk.
Beautiful minimal cut blazers with a layered scallop effect along the front bottom panel were like candy to my eyes.
My favourite pieces were the subtle floral accents that were thrown in to soften and contrast the dazzling invasion.
Overall it worked well and I enjoyed it. Not my favourite Sander collection but a great start to Milan and Paris.

GET OUT OF TOWN

Its been out for a while now but the new SS10 Man About Town issue is probably one of the best issues they have produced.
I had to put the following images up because the styling (by Joe McKenna) is simply amazing, also Willy Vanderperre is a god among men and one of the finest photographers exported from Antwerp.
